Hellenic League Constitution Unveiled

downloadThe Hellenic League constitution has been confirmed, following Sunday’s AGM.

There’s no real surprises in either the Premier Division or Division One, with the only outstanding issue being the consequences of Flackwell Heath turning down promotion to the Southern League. Following approval, it was decided to relegate Reading Town, who had been expecting a reprieve. Other options could have been to run a 21-team league or not promoting Lydney Town.

As a result five teams are promoted into the Premier Division, as expected, those being Brackley Town Saints (previously Brackley Town Dev), Longlevens, Lydney, Tuffley Rovers and Wokingham & Emmbrook. Three of the four bottom sides from last season, Cheltenham Saracens, Reading and Shrivenham, step down to Division One, with Holyport joining them voluntarily. Newbury have left the league entirely, and are expecting to take a place in the North Berks League. Read more of this post
